UIU in Education:
"The UIU program saved me huge amounts of time. I am maintaining staff computers all around the campus, and every computer is a different hardware configuration. We have everything from 350 MHZ PII-s to 3GHZ P4's, both desktops and laptops. I now only keep one image, and keep that up-to-date with the latest OS and program patches. I used to have to cart the computers around the campus to my office where I would spend the better part of a day installing OS, antivirus, Office suite, other programs and all the drivers and patches and then cart the computer back across the campus to the staff member that uses it. "Being a medium sized company that is divided into financial Business groups that prefer to handle their own purchasing time frames and needs, we have accumulated a vast spread of computer hardware. Trying to keep up to date with 6 specific Images for 1 profile was getting ridiculous. Fortunately my boss came back from a Symantec Ghost training course where he learned about the UIU product and asked me to test bed it. Immediately on my first trial to 5 machines of different models, manufacturers and processors, I knew I was going to be freeing alot of my maintenance time.
